So, I don't know if anyone else saw Rihanna on Alan Carr's chat show last night (uk)
I was really interested to see how she came across because in most other interviews I've seen her in she always seems quite guarded and aloof
But i was really pleasantly surprised by her appearance on the show
she seemed actually really funny and sweet
You should check it out on youtube if you didn't catch it.
I have never really been a fan of Rihannas whole images make over
The whole studs and chains and leather, PVC etc
It has always felt really forced to me
But i am loving the change in what she has been wearing to do promo for her new single Rude Boy
This is a picture of her from the chat show last night
I love the whole Jamaican, west indies vibe
That she has got going on
with the hair net and the two piece
It is a tie in with her new video for Rude Boy which features he same kinda styling
I really love it and i think all the bright colors and patterns suit her perfectly
Here is the video
Oh and the song is awesome
But i would put a bet on that you will be going round all day now singing the chorus!
After falling in love with all the bright colours and patterns from Rihanna new video i was super excited to see that ASOS is launching their new Africa Range today
The ASOS Africa collection has been designed, sourced and produced in collaboration with several small communities in Africa. Consisting of a capsule range of clothing and accessories.
Pieces such as jumpsuits, play suits, blazers and cropped trousers are re-worked using African Kanga’s – the vivid printed cottons traditionally worn by men and women throughout Eastern Africa.
Each piece comes packaged in its own pouch made from Kanga fabric with a handmade coconut button fastening.
I just love this!
I think what ASOS has done with this range is great
You are still getting affordable stylish fashion
But it comes with this great story
And you know that it is also being produced fairly as well
because the majority of the printed cotton pieces are produced by SOKO, a not for profit organisation
SOKO provides fair employment, decent wages and skills training to the Uganda community – particularly the women.
I really love all the vibrant colours my favourite pieces are the skirt and the long dress
There is also an amazing patterned blazer on their site too that is just beautiful
The rest of the items are all up on ASOS now so go head on over for a peek
This is definitely one of my favourite ranges that I've seen in a while
I just love how it's really unique
Clothing prices range from £15 - £75 and accessories from £18 - £32.
Shirt-Topman, T-shirt-ASOS, Jeans-Miss Sixty, Scarf-From an Italian Market, Flat silver ring-Robert Lee Morris, Ring With Green Stone-Italian Market, Shoes-Topshop
I bought this scarf a few years ago when i was on holiday in Italy, and i remember wearing it all the time when i got it but i kind of mis placed it and didn't remember about it again until i found it recently
I just love the vintage pattern on it and it's really versatile too
I was actually going to start wearing it as a headband too but when i tried it on i kind of looked like a st trinians gone wrong!
I don't know if i have mentioned it on my blog before but i am more than a bit of a nail varnish junkie
I have hundreds of different shades and different makes
and i always like to have my nails painted, i really hate having naked nails!
I thought this week i would give nail art a go
I used to do it a lot when i was younger
painting various designs and flags (i know, random!)
on my nails
I wanted to do a leopard print design but didn't have the right colours
So i done a pink and jade green version of leopard print
It is definitely not perfect looking but it's fun!
Oh and do you notice the second picture down is different to the rest
Well, i finally realised how to change the colours (make them brighter/darker) in the my pictures and i tried it out on this one!
It was fun, seriously i nearly had them all looking like pop art, hehe!
So I thought i would do a little round up of New York Fashion Week
I didn't bother posting every picture from every show because i know their are loads of really awesome blogs out there that do that and they do it really well
So, instead i thought i would do my own personal take of some of the collections
I'll do the same for the other fashion weeks too!
Let me know if you like it!
And what you thought of the collections?
And if you agree/disagree with my choices?
Oh and remember and enter my comp to win £250 you still have loads of time till it closes!
“ Once I was told, ‘You can’t always have great. Every now & then you’re going to have to settle for good enough.’ That’s not true. When you can’t have great, it means you’re not supposed to have great. It means that you’re supposed to have something better than just great. It means you’re supposed to have something amazing. Or maybe, if you’re lucky, something extraordinary." Unknown

It has been announced that Miss Selfridge, which is a British high street store,
has signed a deal with Warner Bros to sell a clothing collection based on Gossip Girl.
I don't know about you but i was a little shocked when i first heard this.
This seems like much more of a Topshop thing to me but i suppose as both the stores are owned by the same people it makes sense!
As i read more about it
I got even more excited
The collection which consists of 8 dresses based on the styles of the four female lead characters Serena , Blair , Jenny and Vanessa, is inspired by the designs of the shows costume designer and stylist Eric Daman.
The collection will include a leopard print boho maxi dress and a black body con bandage dress among other items
Also The legend that is Eric Daman will also be hosting a video series discussing the characters' style, documenting his inspiration for their wardrobe and showing how fans can created their own Gossip Girl-inspired look using the Miss Selfridge collection.
The collection will hit stores and online at the end of April with prices starting at £39
So, what do you think?
I think it is amazing that a tv show is teaming up with the high street
Especially Gossip Girl as i am such a fan!
I am a big fan of Miss Selfridge too and
I know they will produce some lovely pieces
I just can't wait to see them!

“ When the rain falls you just let it fall and you grin like a madman and you dance with it, because if you can make yourself happy in the rain then you’re doing pretty alright in life" Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist
A few different outfits today!
So first I had on my new sweatshirt (the last two pictures)
It's from the fantastic Parlour Clothing which you can find here and their twitter is here too.
All their garments are ethically produced and where possible organic, and climate neutral. All items are hand printed in the UK using water based ink and Eco-friendly printing techniques.
I just love the seahorse and the candyfloss pink colour it's super cute and i think it's kinda quirky too!
And to my second outfit
I have to apologise about the blurry second picture
The only reason i included it was because you got a better look at my blue eyeliner
I know a lot of you were a fan of my chunky knit that i was wearing a few posts ago
well this is another one hand knitted by my very own mama.
I just love the colour of it and it's just the right amount old/80's for me to just love wearing,
very retro
My mama actually has an Etsy shop that you can head on over to and request a jumper/sweater/cardigan like this one or the one i wore in the last post
She doesn't really have much knitwear up for adults yet but she is taking request orders until she actually puts more up!
So head on over here if you want some knitted goodies!
Oh and i know i haven't really spoken about New York Fashion week yet
But i am planning on doing a little collage of my fave/worst shows
as i don't really want to post every picture from the shows as i know there are loads of websites out their you can view them on anyway.
