Ruby Ruby Ruby Ruby....

S/S 2010 Collection from Ruby
I haven't posted about a designers collection in a little while because there hasn't been one where i have loved every single piece
I know a lot of blogs post about a lot of designers and critique what they like and what they don't,
But to be honest, i only like posting about designers and collections that i really really love that if i had a million pounds i would buy up the whole thing
I don't feel like i or anyone else is in the position to say really negative things about someones designs just because the wouldn't personally wear them.
Don't get me wrong i think its great when bloggers give you a really honest review of a piece or a collection, and i know there are amazing bloggers out there who can do that without being nasty
and i love reading their blogs!
But i just feel like i have always wanted my blog to reflect my style and taste and i want it to be a place where you can come and look at beautiful things
Maybe you won't always like them or be able to afford them but i hope that you get, why i like them and put them on my blog
I just wanted to explain why when i post a collection or whatever and I'm like 'oh i love this or that'
That it's not that i love every random designer out there its just that i don't post the things that i think are personally not my style/taste or that i think is unattractive!
Ok. explanation over!

This is the new collection from the label Ruby
I have been a fan of  their collections for a while but i don't think i have ever posted about them on here yet.
You know that feeling you get when you see a collection and you just go 'ah... perfect'
Like you see you own style in the clothes and even the styling
Well that's what i saw when i seen this
I genuinely would wear every piece
It is just beautiful yet still simple
Every piece complements each other
I got so excited when i saw the gold top in the 12th picture down, i had wanted one from Topshop that they had a few seasons ago but i had missed out on.
I really can't decide what look is my favourite still,
I really love the 8th and 13th ones though
They are both Perfect for a summer day but still a bit more unique than wearing a simple summers dress
I am going to stop babbling on about it now though because i think i could talk about my love for it all day!
Let me what you think and what are your favourite looks
You can check out their site here too

Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights

I looove to bake
Cup-cakes, sponges, crispy cakes, anything old fashioned, retro baking is what i love
I just think it always tastes lovely and it's kind of homely sort of baking too
But apart from baking i have to be honest i don't know how to really cook
I mean apart from popping things in an oven and heating them up
I don't know how to really make a meal from scratch
A little while ago though I started to watch a new cooking show on TV called
'The Delicious Miss Dahl'
The show was about Sophie Dahl, the famous British model
cooking all her own favourite recipes
The thing is all cooking shows normally bore me
I hate chefs speaking to you like they are these magicians making food that you would never be able to make
For me, someone who has never properly cooked i always found their shows unapproachable
But there was something about Sophie's show though
I just loved it!
I loved the way that in between her recipe's she would quote from her favourite books and go to her favourite vintage shops and gives you little antidotes about her life and what inspired her recipes
Also her recipe's all seemed really simple
But at it's core all the recipes looked like beautiful food that you would genuinely want to eat  rather than be too scared to touch it in case you mess up the way it looks on your plate
Sophie made me feel like it was possible that i too could cook what she was cooking
She wasn't making the cooking intimidating
and made it clear from the start that she wasn't a chef, just someone who really really loves food
And you could really feel her passion
Even the kitchen she cooked in was stunning so quirky and kitsch
I know that the verdict to her show was very mixed some people thought she was quite full on and maybe too sugary sweet and then others like me just thought it was the best cooking show they had seen
Either way it inspired me
It gave me the push i needed to finally start to learn how to cook
So i ordered her book
Which goes with the series
It has about 100 recipe's in it i think and was £9.99 from Amazon,
It is such a pretty book with beautiful pictures and a story all the way through with Sophie telling you about her life and how she came to love food
I know i have to just start with the basics as I'm new to this whole cooking thing
But i didn't realise how much fun it was cooking from scratch!
So i thought i would take some pictures of my first try at Sophie's Eton Mess
But i tweaked it a little so instead of the mess
I kept the meringues unbroken and made the rhubarb more runny than chunky
In these pictures the rhubarb came out a funny colour but in real life it was much redder!
I have also put up a video of Sophie talking about the book as she explains it well and will give you a better idea of what it is like
I would definitely recommend this book to you if you are like me and have not cooked a lot or if you just like really simple home-style cooking!
P.s. Don't worry this hasn't turned in to a food blog, i just wanted to do a little review of the book for you all and also i like to do something less-fashion related on a Sunday!
P.p.s- Do any of you have any fab recipe's that you want to share especially some gorge vegetarian ones, as i am struggling to find veggie ones i like!

Fashion Gir l- Charlotte Kemp Muhl

Issue 87 From Oystermag
Charlotte Kemp Muhl

This styling just adds to my love for all things Americana
I think Charlotte looks so effortless in these photos
Her hair is just beautiful
It is actually really refreshing to see a model without long flowing waves of hair dyed forty-five different colours (don't get me wrong i love that look too but a change is always welcome)
I definitely need some more stars and stripes in my wardrobe, Asap!
P.S check out Oyster mag here, it is super awesome!

Elizabeth and James

Like every other girl in the land I find going jean shopping more than a little tiresome, how can one piece of clothing cause so much hassle?
They are either too dark
Too light
Too big
Too small
Baggy at the bum
Lose at the waist
Tight at the thighs
Seriously the list could go on...
I have only once found a near perfect pair and they were the indigo wash Baxter jean from Topshop
But that was many many years ago and i am in serious need of a new pair
I have never been one to dive into the whole designer jean thing
Truth be told though its because i have never had a spare £200 lying around that i could just spend on some denims
On my recent search for jeans though I think i have found the 'one'
Whilst browsing the Elizabeth and James site (something which i have to be honest in saying i probably do too much), I came across these beauties!
They are from the Elizabeth and James Textile line
These are called Jimi
Kirstin Cavallari was spotted out and about in them.
I love the bootcut flare and the wash they are like proper vintage Rock'n'Roll jeans
I also love The Stevie from E+J Textile too
It has just got more of a wider flare and different pockets but equally as gorgeous
I am so excited by these two styles
I love when you find a style of jeans you love and you think will really flatter you
Unfortunately at the price they retail at ($245) I think i will have to keep my fingers crossed for a very very big sale!

Whilst i was browsing the Elizabeth and James site i also came across this ring
I am in love with it
I have been looking for a really classy, chic double fingered ring
And this has got to be the one
I love the simple design and the fact it looks delicate but has still got an edge!
Ring-$95

Everyone who reads this blog will know what a fangirl i am of Mary-Kate and Ashley, their style and both of their lines-
The Row and Elizabeth and James
I really think though after looking at the E+J site a lot recently that Elizabeth and James is just getting better and better with every collection
It is just really simple
And i think that is something that a lot of designers find it hard to do with their lines
To not over complicate their pieces and to let the person wear the clothes and not the clothes wear the person!
And i think it just shows how talented Mk and A are to have managed to find the balance!
Let me know what you think and if you are as big a fan as me of Elizabeth and James!

"Summer afternoon… to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language."

I can not explain how much I love this playsuit
It's from Johann Earl at ASOS
It is just beyond perfect
I have checked out the rest of Johann's pieces too
And they are equally as beautiful
I think I may have found myself my favourite new designer!
Check out the playsuit here on ASOS
And have a peek at Johann Site here

Sunshine

Harem Trousers- Zara, T-Shirt- Old Concert Tee, Shoes- ASOS, Earrings- From a market in Italy, E Ring- Rock 'n' Rose, Heart ring- Me and Zena
Kinda fuzzy photos because of the sun but i kinda like it
These are 'The' comfiest trousers ever from Zara really lounge-y
(is that a word?) but i do sometimes feel like i am wearing pyjamas when i have them on.
I just threw on a New York Dolls tee with them as it was really hot today and i wanted to wear something loose
I know i basically wear these  ASOS shoes in every post but i just love the colour
ASOS is amazing at the moment i think
There is so many things i want from it, beautiful little dresses and playsuits especially
Hope you are all having a great start to your week
I am kinda excited for Wimbledon starting today too,
I've got to be honest though i just figured out the (basic) rules to tennis last year whilst watching it and i only watch the games with Andy Murry really,
I'm Scottish so i am totally Team Murray
but still i like looking at all the pretty white outfits and Ralph Lauren ball boy blazer too!
P.S Please excuse the bad nail polish half on/half off look!
