"Cherish your solitude.
Take trains by yourself to places you have never been to.
Sleep alone under the stars.
Learn how to drive a stick shift.
Go so far away that you stop being afraid of not coming back.
Say no whenever you don’t want to do something. Say yes to your instincts even if everyone around you disagrees.
Decide whether you want to be liked or admired. Decide if fitting in is more important than finding out what you’re doing here.
Believe in kissing."
Eve Ensler

Sorry for the lack of blogging.
After the weekend it will be back to normal
Giveaways aplenty and lots and lots of beautiful fashion awaits!

Drew

Yah finally some pictures!
Every time i try and upload pictures to a blog post using blogger i get a message saying 'Server Rejected' over the picture.
I eventually found this really really long way of getting a couple of pictures in the post which i have done with these ones
But I don't know how to get others in
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Fingers Crossed it starts working again soon!
So, I love Drew Barrymore
Seriously i have always thought she was just fab
You know, if you had to pick a celebrity to be your 'real life' best friend then i would always pick her
She just seems so down to earth and fun!
And because of that i was super excited to know that she was the new cover start of Nylon Denim's issue
I normally always love Drew's editorials
As i think she has a really natural personal style that is normally reflected in the shoots
But i have got to say as much as i am a really big fan of Nylon
I really don't like the styling in this shoot at all
I think Drew looks awesome
and she is beautiful but I just think its really un-original styling
There isn't exactly anything wrong with it it's just bland, right?
I just think there is so much fashion-wise you can do with Drew and i don't know, i think i was just a little disappointed that Nylon didn't just take a chance and push the boundaries a bit with it
What do you guys think?
Do you like the shoot or do you think Nylon is playing it safe and needs to break out of its comfort zone?
P.S who would your fake 'Real life' celeb friend be?

I Miss Missing You...

Ok so Blogger still won't let me post pictures, are any of you having this problem or know how to fix it?
That means it's another video for the blog today
If you have been reading this blog then you'll know I'm a Saturdays fan
And i can't stop listening to their new song
So here is the pretty video for it
I have totally hair envy with Vanessa and Una in this video
I don't know what it is with The Saturdays they bring out my inner 9 year old Spice Girl era fangirl
I feel like i want to learn the dance moves to this song just like i used to when i was little with the Spice Girls songs
Seriously, If  a party ever needs lightening up I am there with my iconic Stop dance moves ( Hey you, always on the run, wanna slow it down baby.....)
So yeah, wanna come find a beach with me so we can re-create this dance routine, you know y'all want to, Unless you inner fangirl....hehe!
Have a great weekend!

Rude Boi

Blogger has went a little crazy and won't let me post any pictures?
So it has to be a non-fashion post today
I thought i would post this video
I have watched/listened to it far too many times
I love this version, really amazing!
It's crazy how talented they are, Their voices all sound so great together!
And i now think i am incapable of singing each song on their own
i now sing along to the radio and end up singing this 'mash-up' instead
I feel  like i am in Glee even using that word
Enjoy
Let me know what you think
And have a fabulous weekend!

Everything You Can Imagine Is Real

Top-Asos, Chinos-Zara, Shoes-Asos, Bracelet and Necklace-Temporary Secretary, Love heart ring- Me and Zena, Scrabble ring-Rock 'n' Rose

Ok, so i want to apologise in advance for the make up in these photos
It looks nice in real life, in normal lighting
It's a deep pink shadow, black eye liner and nude lipstick
But in these photos i think it make me look a little sinister, hehe!
If i was in to the whole vampire thing then i would pass it off as Twilight-chic, but unfortunately i am so not in the vampire club, I just can't seem to get into it!
Anyway this is one of the other tops i got in the ASOS sale, I really like how it is just kinda floaty and loose
I got some new jewellery this week too from the lovely Temporary:Secretary
This red rope bracelet and a unicorn necklace, which you can't really see here but i will get a better picture in another post
If you haven't checked out the store yet you definitely should, as there is so many pretty things in there
And all the pieces come in such cute packaging too and the prices are fab!
Check it out here!
Oh and just to let you all know that i will be having a pretty awesome giveaway, (even if i do say so myself)
So keep checking back here in the next few days for it opening!

My Book Reviews for Summertime Reading

So I know that a lot of blogs are doing some summer book reviews just now, I have saw quite a few in the past couple of weeks, so I thought I would just jump right on that bandwagon and I also like to do a kind of non-fashion related post on a Sunday too!
I have picked a selection of some of my favourite books, I have tried to picked mostly light summer reads.  I always think there is nothing worse than sitting by a pool and trying to work your head around the most complicated book plot.  But that's just me!
So here are my (mostly) fun, light and summery reads
For your (depending on your funds) vacation or your stay-cation.

I am such a fan of these two authors individually and I think they are just great together too.
Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List is about two childhood friends
and how their friendship is starting to change.
It's got more depth than you first expect and it's a really easy book to read

This is such a great book
I really loved it
It's about a girl who runs off to Paris and meets a group of American Backpackers on her way there.
They all team up together and travel around Paris
I don't know if i enjoyed this so much because I want to go to Paris so badly
and honestly by the end of it i was nearly buying my plane ticket because the book basically takes you on a journey around the city
Telling you about all the beautiful places to visit, music to listen to and french books to read.
The story is also really sweet.
If you have never read any Sara Manning books before you should definitely check her out
I have read (almost) all of her books and they are all really great
Her writing really draws you in and she makes really simple fun stories so enjoyable
This is my favourite book of hers I have read
If you are going to France or Paris on holiday I would recommend getting this in your Amazon basket straight away as it will make you so excited to go!

You know when you read a book and you love it so much
You kind of want to claim it as your find
Do you know what I mean, It's like you want to tell everyone about it and make sure they know that you read it first, like you want everyone to know about it but you still want to keep it on the down low.
It sounds weird writing that but the only thing i can compare it too is really liking a little unknown band and being in love with all their music and then all of a sudden the band signs a major record deal and becomes bigger than big and there music is known to everyone and they are not your musical secret anymore?
Well that is how I feel about Danny Wallace's books
When i ever meet someone and they talk about liking his books i instantly know that we will have the same humour, it's like a little club or something, hehe!
His books must bring this side of people out because years and years ago when i bought his first book (Are You Dave Gorman, written by Danny and Dave Gorman)
When i took it to the till in Borders the cashier guy actually went 'wow' when he say what book i was holding
I asked him what was wrong with it and he said no nothing wrongs it's just such a special book i get really excited when i see people buying it as i know they have never read it before and i just know that it will become there favourite book ( FYI it is one of them)'

When i went to hand over the money i noticed that he had charged me the wrong price, when i asked him why he just said 'Your choice of book is so good, you shouldn't have to pay full price'
I just thought that was really sweet
But now i have read Danny's books too, I understand why he did it
At the time even though that book was such a hit It was like a little cult or something for the people who had read it.
I have included two of Danny's books in this list.
If you are going to read them both i would read them in order this one first then Yes Man
It's not like they are follow ups or anything but i think they will make more sense this way.
All Danny's books are non-fiction
about things that happen in his life
This one is about what happened when he accidentally started his own kindness cult
Yes, seriously,
I would say it all makes sense when you read it
But honestly it is still as random as it sounds
But that's why i love it
 i just love this book
All i would say is read it and just enjoy

So this is the second Danny Wallace book on the list
And it is my all time favourite book (along side To Kill A Mockingbird)
If you've not already read the book then you have probably saw the film
I have saw only a half hour of the film, as Jim Carry just repels me, why he was cast in this role i don't know, but that is just my inner fan girl of the book coming out.
What i would say is from what i have seen and read of the film, it has the very basic plot of the book but it is not actually the exact story line?
So even if you have saw the film i would definitely give the book a chance
Honestly i could just gush about it here all day, but don't worry i wont
All i will say it its interesting, captivating, inspiring and more than anything laugh out loud funny
Like you will laugh at some parts so much that you will cry
So my one warning with this book is do not read it in public places as your hysterical laughing may cause stares
My number one book for you to get for your summer holidays on this list!

The first book in the Pretty Little Liars series
It's kind of like Gossip Girl but with a murderous twist
I know they have made a TV show of it in America and it looks fab too!

This for me is the biggest example of not judging a book by its cover
I had saw this book previously but had refused to buy it because i just have a rule where i don't buy books with such obvious chick lit covers
But then I got it free with glamour this month
And i decided to read it
I was so wrong about it
I really really enjoyed it
And for the genre that it is, in it is of a really high standard in my opinion
A really fun story of a girl running away to New York
I now want to read the other two books in the series
They look just as good

I am a Britney fan and I am not afraid to admit it
Seriously even through her 'head shaven' phase i was still their buying the album
And like a true fan I am still holding out for a reconciliation between her and JT!
Well, when i heard that this book was coming out and it was meant to be secretly about Britney
I snapped it up
Written by both a former US Weekly team member and a make up artist to the stars, one of her clients rumored to be Britney?
This book is about a young 16 year old girl on the brink of stardom who is dating the hot lead singer of the biggest boy band
See where i got the Britney link?
Well i loved it and
I loved guessing what bits where really about famous people or not
A fun story for all you fellow Britney fans!

Written by the same authors of the first book on my list
This is such an amazing book
If you have seen the film then you will love this
Not only a great story but you will be rushing off to download half of the songs mentioned in the book

The most non-light (does that make sense?) book on my list
This is an autobiographic story of Dito Montiel
About all of the people who have made him who he is today, he calls them his saints
It's a really beautiful book, at times it's sad but you will really feel like you know him by the end of it
Also the movie made of the book is one of my favourites

Ok, so i will review these together as i don't think you should buy one without the other
because the first one leaves you wanting to know straight away whats going to happen
I thought the first one was a little slow to start but it really picks up mid-way
The second is much better in my opinion
I found it really enjoyable and i felt like you got to know the characters a lot better
I am excited to read the third
They are just sweet fun books and if  you are a fan of The hills then its fun to know what really goes on behind the scenes too!

So, there is my list of recommendations
The are very biased to personal taste, but i hope you can find something you like in there
I am looking for some new books to read too so I would love you all to leave your own recommendations too!
let me know what you think
And happy reading!

The Happening...

Some Inspiration and a bit of an update....
1+2. Festival season is in full swing now, although most people seem to be planning next years already, my friend has already asked me if i want a ticket for T next year, how can people plan ahead like that?
I love face paint, I always have ever since i was wee i went through a stage of actually wanting my career to be a street face painter, a kind of fun version of a make up artist, right?  Alas i just kept my face painting skills confined to local fairs and school fun days, my true face-painting talents never given their full chance to shine, hehe!
Anyway i love these pictures, they just look cool, full stop!

3.  It has rained here for basically like three days straight now, last night we even had thunder and lightning.
While watching the rain grow stronger to storm like proportions, i mused to my fellow family members, who, like me were all hiding out in the one room all wearing rubber soled shoes (we as a family are pretty scared of lightning hence all staying huddled together and wearing rubber soles so we dont get struck, I know, crazy!)
That when rain gets so crazy and heavy like that, their is a part of me that wants to just run out in it and dance around, something I'm sure i would regret afterwards but everyone else agreed too.  I now realise why, after seeing this picture, movies have told us for years that rain is romantic and that's why all the big old classics end with big romantic gestures taking place in the rain, it's kind of like, you know if we can be this happy in the rain, then i think we will do alright in real life, right?
So the next time it rains maybe we should all run out side and see if we have our own movie moment, please don't blame me if you get the cold/flu/other rain induced disease!

4.  No explanation needed, I hope for us all, we all grow up to be like this women, A legend. Fur, High Heels, A Turban, and....a bike!

5.  I am still in the midst of doing up my bedroom, It is starting to come together, it's so exciting!
But i am now starting to look for interesting things to hang on my wall, i love these old LP's all over the room, but i was thinking of having some old magazine covers i love framed, i don't know really, any ideas?

6.  ....Awesome

7.  I want to go to Paris.  And wining this competition might send me there, so if you lovely people wouldn't mind, would you give me your vote, to do so click here

8.  ....Also Awesome

9.  I really want this camera, it's a Lomo 4 lens.  So that when you take a picture you get four little pictures instead of one, I really want the Diana+ too but its a bit more expensive.  Has anyone got this camera, would love to know if it's as good as it looks and is it easy to get the photos developed?

10.  Just looks like the most perfect little garden hide-away

11.  One of my favourite bands ever Frightened Rabbit
I kinda of love anything they sing so i am probably biased here, but i really love this cover.
Do you remember this song originally Set You Free by N-Trance?  I really disliked the original although it is entwined in my childhood memories, when one of my sisters was going through a -listening-to-dance-music-phase, and when ever i would go to the local funfair it seemed to be the only song they played.  Either way i think this version is better!

I realised i don't ever really do many posts about what i am up to or what is inspiring me and why, like this one.  If you all like this one, i will try to do more.
It's nice sometimes to have a think about what is inspiring your fashion choices and in some way or another all of the above things are.
Sorry about the not commenting back for a while, i will get right on that just now.
Hope you enjoy let me know what you think?

P.S also soon i will be doing some review posts of things to listen to, watch or read in the summer time.
So if you guys have anything you want me to review or post about let me know, your bands cd, your new book you have written or a new film you have out..etc?

Cellardoor Magazine 'Summer Of Love' Issue

So as some of you may know I write for a magazine called Cellardoor
The Summer issue has just come out and it's beautiful, Take a look here at the full issue!

Here are the interviews I did for this issue!
The first was with the awesome girls from Wildfox.  I am such a massive fan of this label and of their personal styles so it was majorly exciting for me to get to interview them, They are very inspiring! Take a look at the interview here...

Next, I interviewed the two sisters behind the label One Language.  I am such a massive fan of their handbags they look so super pretty!   It was such a pleasure to interview Anais and her sister, check out their site if you have a minute too.  Here is the One Language interview....

I have posted about the label Oh! Nena many times on this blog .  They have the best headbands i have seen. These girls are so amazing and i just think their story is so interesting!  Here is the Oh! Nena interview....

Wren is such a beautiful clothing line with such individual influences.  Melissa Coker talked about them in this interview....

Some of you may have noticed that i have placed a survey in the corner of this blog.   It all has to do with this article i wrote for Cellardoor.  I will do a big post on it soon but I would love for you all to take a read of this piece and let me know what you think and also if you have a couple of minutes, to do the survey in the corner of this blog or click the link in the magazine and  it will take you straight to it!

I hope you enjoy the issue and my article/interviews!
I really do love Cellardoor magazine, i know I'm a bit biased, hehe! but i just think it's super pretty and has got such wonderful photos and styling in it too!

Holy, moley, me oh my, you're the appple of my eye

Wearing-Cardigan- ASOS, Top/Dress-ASOS, Cardigan-ASOS Denim Leggings-Uniqlo, Shoes- Sarenza

Some of you probably know already, but ASOS have such a fab sale on just now
I checked it out the other day and saw so many pretty things that i just had to order some
They came today and bar a couple of things I love them all
I really do love ASOS and i love there sales as you really can pick up some proper bargains, you should definitely check it out if you haven't already!
This cardigan is from the sale.  It is just really comfy and great to through on over little dresses or jeans, i love the fringing it gives it a kind of hippy 70's feel to it.
The top is also from the sale, i say top but because I'm small it kinda looks like a dress on me.
The style of it is super baggy and at first i didn't know what i thought of the shape but i actually really like it, it's cute in a baby doll way, and I'm such a sucker for anything with nautical stripes.
I will be posting more pictures soon with the rest of the bargains i scooped up from ASOS
I have decided I am going to start doing some make up posts as well as outfits posts in this blog too, i don't know how you guys feel about that?
I prob won't do that many and my blog will still be a fashion blog but i think it's nice to change it up sometimes.
Hence these two close up pictures here, although i now realise you actually can't even see my eye make (which is what i was trying to photograph) so i will do a make up post another day!
Hope you are all having a fab weekend and if you are at or going to T In The Park, have tones of fun and let me know what bands you see!
