These are a few of my favourite things....

ASOS's new collection is the jam, right?
So many lovely pieces for spring.
The only thing about ASOS is sometimes its a bit of an effort sitting trawling through like 20 odd pages of clothes, i mean, its great there is so much choice but i always think you have really got to be in the mood its like epic online shopping
So i thought i would eliminate that process for you and pick some of my Must-Haves from the new drop.
Let me know what your favourite is
and if you will be buying any of the goodies!

1. Dress- £36.00
2.  Jumpsuit- £32.00
3.  Anchor ring- £6.00
4.  Pink ring- £4.50 (This really reminds me of the YSL Arty ring for some reason?)
5.  Peter Pan top
6.  Leopard print cape-  £20.00

Sunday Show and Tell...

Like most of the country I bought Adele’s new album this week. I love it; her voice is just so stunning, right? She really does remind me of like an old soul legend, so many beautiful lyrics and songs on her new record.

I heard this on Radio One’s live Lounge during the week and thought it was amazing. I am not a Cheryl Cole fan so it didn’t take a lot for me to think this was a much better version than her original.

It actually sounds like a completely different song I think. I can’t stop listening to it!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

Remember and send me your suggestions for next weeks Sunday Show and Tell post, it can be anything that you love and want to share, a video, a song, a blog or even just a really nice story of something lovely that happened to you during the week, anything....I want to hear, email me or leave a comment below and I will link to you if I use your suggestion!

Cheers To The Freakin' Weekend...

Wearing-Tee-Gap, Dress-A/Wear, Earrings- Topshop, Ring-Rock 'n' Rose

The whole Black Swan (not that I've seen it, i think it looks quite terrifying!) ballerina craze has obviously affected me without my realising and influenced this outfit a little.
I used to do ballet classes for a bit when i was really young and the thing i loved most about it were the clothes, the pink leotard with the satin ballet slippers and i used to have these cute little sweaters that i used to throw on after class had finished, which i was inspired by to put this loose stripy tee over my dress.

This is a sort of slouchy laid back version of that ballet look.
I wanted to have really strong make-up to contrast the soft skirt and tee.
So i used a really dark kinda purple lipstick, and made my brows really dark and strong looking.
It's weird as I'm so not used to seeing myself with stronger lips/brows as i like to always keep my make-up soft and pastel coloured but its nice sometimes to change it up!

I put my hair in a super high ponytail and added the 'right side of trashy' gold hoops to put my own little twist on the usual ballet look!

Oh and excuse the pictures of me laughing (and i am not punching myself in the second last one even though that's what it looks like,Ha) I just got the giggles a little whilst getting these pictures taken and i just couldn't stop laughing!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday

Cellardoor Magazine Issue 5

Some of you may already know that i write for a beautiful online magazine called Cellardoor
The 5th issue is now out online to be viewed
And as biased as i may be I think it's kinda perfect!

I carried out two interviews for this issue
One with the amazing model and actress Anna Brewster who i have posted about on this blog before
Her answers in the interview are really interesting.  Its really inspiring how she is staying true to herself whilst forging a successful career in acting and modelling
And the second interview is with the author Rachel Cohn who has written some of my favourite books!

I have put both interview below for you to take a peek at
But you can also just go to page one and start the magazine from the beginning as there is so much wonderful content i think you will love!
Let me know what you think?

Sunday Show and Tell...

Another Blog recommendation for Sundays Show and Tell post

I came across this blog a little while ago and have been an avid fan ever since
Run by the whimsical Betsey who is a 21 year old Student from New Jersey
She posts the most dreamy and inspiring images along with some beautiful quotes
You will also find many a screencap from some of the most heartbreaking romantic films from years gone by until present day
Perfect for all you Jane Austen lovers out there

Her blog is like time has stopped somewhere between watching an old romantic black and white movie and taking a trip to Paris to sit outside a cafe and dreamily people watch.
All in all it's definitely worth a look
And there is no better day than a Sunday to lazily read back the blog posts of your newly discovered favourite blog

Tee-ASOS, Cardigan-Hand-knitted by my mama, Ring- LHC, Bracelet-Preshhus, Necklace-Talullah Tu

Wow, two outfit posts two days in a row, crazy! Ha!

So this is a more chilled look today.  It was my sisters birthday today so we hung out and had a little party  for her.

I got this necklace a few weeks ago from the website Talullah Tu.  I had my eye on it for ages and just decided to treat myself and get it.  It's such a glam/glitzy necklace that i just love pairing it with a casual tee for a contrast.  I had been wearing a couple of thin chains with it too, for a layered look.  Its on ribbon, so instead of having a clasp you can tie it tight or loose which i really like, as it gives you more options for wearing it.

I got my first issue of Teen Vogue from my subscription delivered today.  It was so exciting, seriously i feel like i normally have to hunt in every WH Smith in Scotland to find a copy, so getting it delivered was such a treat, ah i love magazine subscription's!

I can not stop listening to Rihanna's new(ish) album.  How sing-a-long are all the tracks, i love it!
Also B.o.B's album is just amazing it reminds me of like really back in the day hip hop, Magic is definitely my favourite song, its perfect.

Edit:  Just to let you know I started a Tumblr, for my writing, quotes and music, let me know what you think... Clear Of Mind To Dream

Cape- H&M, Jumper-Handmade by my Mama, Gloves also by my Mama, Ring- LHC, Scarf-Italian Market, Tights-asos, Socks-Topshop, Shoes-Peacocks

It was so cold and foggy today when i took these pictures
The fog kind of phased out half of my body in these shots, so i had a little play around with the colours so that you could see the images.
I went for some old 'skool' saturation on the pictures.

So, last night i decided that i was a bit bored of my hair, so i cut myself a fringe.
I had never cut my hair ever before, I felt like such a rebel,Ha!
But i was quite happy with the results.  You can't see it too well in these photos but it is graduated at the side too.
I wanted it to be just touching my eyelashes, so i could wear it as a sort of peek-a-boo fringe when my hair is straight and then i will be able to move it to a side fringe when its curly.
I really enjoyed cutting it actually , it was fun and found it much easier than i thought it would be.  When i was little i used to always want to be a hairdresser, and was always cutting my Barbie's hair, so maybe i have a hidden talent,Ha!

I was inspired by the colour of my nails with this outfit.  I never usually have any bits of an outfit matching but i liked the thought of my nails matching my lips, my fingerless-gloves and the red in my scarf too!
I got this cape a few years ago in H&M.  I had been desperate for a cape at the time after watching some old movie where they were wearing one, but at the time no-where was selling any.  Then one day in my local H&M i saw like three of these stuffed behind things on a rail and i jumped on it and bought it.  It's so lovely but its the type of material that picks up every piece of fluff and hair around which is so annoying.  You can even see the wool from my jumper on the front of it in these pictures!
I normally carry one of those sellotape rollers in my handbag when i wear it!

Seriously, Sweaters are where it's at dude...

Sweaters of epic proportions being sold over at Urban Outfitters just now
I can not wait for it to get a little warmer so that I don't need to wear a coat outside anymore and I can wear a sweater with a big chunky woolen scarf instead.
These are my favourite one's from the site
Can't even explain how much I want the last one
But I think £48 may be a little steep for a jumper, right?

Let me know what you think?
Will you be jumping on the sweater train and getting yourself some for spring?

Silverflint...

You know when you see a lookbook and it makes you feel a little giddy because the clothes are so perfect, well i feel like that with this one.
I love a dress and fancy two piece just as much as the next girl, but seriously sometimes i feel myself getting more excited about basics and knits like these ones above, maybe its because of the time of year or maybe its just because they are really really pretty?

Blame Mary-Kate for my love of the over-sized jumper and need to layer at least two items of clothing before leaving the house.
Her My-Body-Is-Swamped-With-Clothes-Look is one of my favourites, for me she made the casual basic wearable again, she showed us (well me, at least) how to do it.  But the difference was she didn't pair her leggings with a dirty old pair of sneakers no, she wore her louboutins and that casual band tee, well she just chucked 5 diamond necklaces over it.
She made casual seem dressy and dressy seem well, out of date.
Looking like you had made an effort become irrelevant, instead looking like you had fell out of bed and into your heels, accidentally of course, nothing was planned obviously, became a mission.

This is why i am more than a little in love with this new London based label called Silverflint, pictured above. It sells the type of I'm-Not-Trying-To-Look-This-Good-It-Just-Happened type clothes, that i really want more of in my wardrobe.
Its the updated version of Mary-Kate's boho look, as Silverflint calls it 'clothes for the urban nomad'
These items won't date and they aren't seasonal either (well, technically i suppose they are, but when you live in Scotland its never really inappropriate, weather wise, to wear a chunky knit/cape/poncho/etc)
I have so many ideas buzzing around my head for how i would pair these pieces.
If you saw my post here, then you'll know all about my love for capes, so the one in the first imagine is just perfect to me, also i have a sort of phobia when it comes to the colour orange, I have no idea why, but as soon as i saw this i loved the colour, which might mean this is the perfect thing to help me get over my orange dislike, and a perfect excuse to purchase it?
The pink spider web/loopy sweater would look amazing over sized and would be such a wardrobe staple, right?
Although looking at the image it kinda looks like its made from mohair to me which i am allergic too, but i could down some Piriton to wear it i suppose, ah the things i will do for a pretty sweater!

Silverflint is currently only avalible online on the Silverflint website or at their pop-up shop in London which is by appointment only.

Oh and you can follow them on Twitter too here, they are so lovely and friendly and will answer any questions you have about the label!

So, what do you think, are you a fan of these over sized knits and beautiful blanket shawls?
Let me know.....
