I know the whole patterned nails thing has had a massive comeback lately with loads of bloggers/celebs
But to be honest with you I spent my whole high school life painting a different pattern on my nails every week near enough, and i got pretty bored of it, so for the past few years I have just kept my nails simple and pattern free.
Although lately I have been dipping my toe (fingernail?) into the nailart world again.
I got a little tub of gems recently and have been sticking them on  over my favourite nail colours.
Simple, quick but effective!

This is my favourite nail colour at the moment, it's actually even more blue-r in real life.
This is about the fourth day of this being on my nails, its holding up pretty well, all gems intact too!

Are you all still feeling the nailart trend or are you over it yet?

(oh and i know the last image is completely blurry, I just like it and thought it looked quite cool Ha!)

Model- Abbey Lee Kershaw

I  think Abbey looks amazing here
The styling is just great.
I think her hair being blond is nice but i kinda think she suits it better brown, no?

So I have been toying with the idea of getting my nose pierced for a while and I love Abbeys nose ring.  I just think there is something so pretty and summery about having your nosed pierced maybe its the hippie connotations or maybe its all the pretty things you can buy like the nose rings from Fresh Trends that's  swaying me?
I think i might just go for it and get it done this week, eek!
Have any of you got it done, was it sore/does it leave a scar?

GiGi Vintage

I have been meaning to write about this store for so long.
It's called GiGi Vintage and stocks some of the most beautiful vintage around.
Sometimes I think there is so many of these online 'Vintage' stores that they all merge together, which is why i was so happy when i found this one, It's really different in the sense that not only are the items sourced from all around the world, they also stock some fabulous designer jewellery and sunglasses (seriously, the Chanel earrings are just amazing)
But best of all is the prices.  It is so reasonable.  In most cases i would say its on par, if not cheaper than the high street.

I love that they have got such a full range of different styles and sizes.  They have some of the most fabulous over-the-top 80's prom dresses too which you should definitely check out especially if you've got a summer wedding to go to, you would definitely turn some heads!

I picked my favourite pieces from the store.  I tried to pick most from the new in section as i didn't want them to all be sold out by the time that i have the post up.  Everything seems to go so quick so if you've got your eye on something i would snap it up ASAP!

How perfect is that Blazer, I am in love with it and the blue dress with the pleated dress is just beautiful, I have been looking for a dress like that for so long!

Are you a fan of GiGi, let me know if you manage to bag a bargain form the site?

Here is the links to each individual item....

1.  Aztec jacket
2.  Blazer
3.  Tee
4.  Penguin jacket

1. Crazy coloured Dress
2. Blue dress with pleated skirt
3.  Jumpsuit
4.  Peach floral dress

Wearing ...Sweater-Hand Knitted by my mama, Jeans- ASOS, Necklace-Primark (years ago) Earrings-Topshop, Sunglasses-RayBans

How lovely is this weather we are getting just now? (i always feel like such a blogger when i start talking about the weather hehe!)

It was so hot here today and i went for the obvious choice of wearing black and navy!
I felt like i was some sort of conductor of heat i was so warm, it was unbelievable, i had to change into a loose dress when i came home to cool down!

Also you may notice there is no pictures of the shoes I'm wearing today as by this point i was barefoot....As well as learning dark colours aren't good to wear in the sun, I was also reminded its not the best idea to wear moccasins with no socks on.....I have the worst blisters, seriously they are so sore.  I don't even know why i wore them, you know when you second guess what your wearing, you know you should probably go with your instinct and change but oh no i just kept on wearing them, hehe!

I LOVE my new sweater.  I had been wanting an aran jumper for ages but I wasn't a fan of the fits/colours of the ones i had seen on the high street, so i asked my mama to knit me one!
Navy is actually one of my favourite colours so i decided to go for that and a loose/baggy fit, so it was kinda slouchy.  I am so happy with it! I can't wait to wear it over dresses on colder summer nights and with cute little shorts too.

Hope you all had a lovely day in the sunshine!

Shirt- Dorothy Perkins, Jeans-ASOS, Shoes-ASOS, Earrings-Topshop

I love the colour of this blouse, such a nice shade of blue.  It's really loose and a lovely shape but it's hard to see that in these pictures it just kinda looks like it is hanging over my jeans, but it looks much better in real life!

These are the skinny jeans I bought from ASOS.
I always think it's tricky to order jeans online as the sizing with denim is so crazy.
But i got lucky with these, as they are a great fit, although I'm going to have to take a hem on the length as my legs are so short,HaHa!

My 21st Birthday is on May 4th so i have been trying to work out what to do for it, I'm going to try and stretch it out and try and have a birth-week rather than birth-day!

I don't want a party and want to do something that is a little bit different rather than the usual birthday things.
If you have any ideas I would love to know, as i really need to get planning!

Hope you have all had a great day so far.... American Idol tonight (we get it a day behind America) i LOVE that show i have watched every series and always thought it was much better than X Factor but this year is even better with the AMAZE JLO, seriously how fabulous is that women and my new style icon Steven Tyler, he is such a ledge.  who do you guys want to win?
I am more than a little bit in love with Paul MacDonald so i really want him to win and i think Lauren is great too!

"I was 17 when I signed on [to Laguna Beach], and that's a vulnerable age anyway," Conrad said. "I was still figuring out who I was. To be on television and told a million things that are wrong with you was hard, but I very quickly decided that I just had to be me."

This is the outtakes and behind the scenes from Lauren Conrad's cover of Allure Magazine.
Its funny, i am always continuously interested in reading interviews with her and hearing what she has to say, i wonder if it's becuase i have spent most of my own teenage life watching her young life unfold in front of our eyes?
And now we don't get to see her everyday whereabouts on screen reading her interviews seems to still connect us with that period of time?
Or maybe i'm just nosey and like to know what celebs are up too? HaHa!
I think she looks amazing here
Her hair is the nicest i have ever saw it i think.
I can't wait to see the full shoot when the magazine is out.
I really wish i could read Allure i can never find it anywhere over here and when i looked into getting a subscription it was beyond expensive, so annoying!

Allure is out on April 19th

To Ask or Not To Ask

I know that many of you who have been reading my blog for a while will know that as well as blogging I’m a freelance writer for magazines.

To cut a long story short it’s not something I ever expected to be doing as a job. I always loved writing but it wasn’t until I started contributing to an American magazine that I realised I could combine my love of fashion and writing together.

Although the majority of the writing I do is fashion based, I am slowly but surely branching out into genres such as beauty, music and celebrity.

It’s the latter sector that has prompted me to write this actually.

The work I contribute varies but most of the time it’s interviews. Interviews have kinda become my thing, my USP sort of. I don’t really know how, but I just really enjoy them and thankfully I have been lucky enough to speak with some amazing people.

When you interview someone who is well known the pressure of asking the right questions is definitely tougher. Seeing how far and wide your words and thoughts can reach when you interview a celebrity is astounding.

Sometimes I think that it’s forgotten that the people who have become our entertainment are real too.

There seems to be a sense of entitlement from some magazines and newspapers. A sort of ‘we made you, so we can ask you whatever we like’ attitude. Like they are doing us, the public a duty by outing cheats and uncovering affairs.

It was reading an interview in the December 2010 edition of Marie Claire magazine that first sparked this celebrity interview debate in my head.

Whilst reading the interview Harvey Marcus did with Rihanna, I came across a paragraph where he too questions our need to know everything about celebrities.

On asking her about Chris Brown, he says,

“This far in she has no duty, no responsibility to anyone to meet any further enquiry on the subject. So much was written, broadcast about Rihanna and Chris Brown in the ensuing months that to re-examine that period today- especially as she appears so at peace with the world- seems to serve no function other than to satisfy out celebrity addiction; administer another quick fix at her expense. But she knows, and I know, I am going to ask her, all the same."

I found this so interesting, that while he acknowledges the fact that it is more than unnecessary, cruel even to continue to make her talk about a period in her life that she clearly finds upsetting, he also implies the fact that he doesn’t really have a choice as without a quote from her talking about the said incident, I’m sure the magazine would not have sold nearly as many copies as it did.

I always enjoy Harvey’s interviews in Marie Claire and think he is an amazing interviewer, I feel he handles subjects like the one above with as much grace and respect as possible. Something which I think is becoming more and more uncommon with fashion magazines. Whilst he is of course adding to this celebrity culture, I think he is doing so with a nod of irony and much needed perspective.

For me there are two different types of celebrities you’ve got the ones who have little if any talent who create drama and scandal to court publicity. And then you’ve got the real talented people who, for one reason or another have had a turbulent personal life and seem not to be allowed to deal with it in private as the whole world wants an exclusive on it.

I am the first to admit I am well and truly immersed in celebrity culture. I have read Heat magazine for as long as I can remember and check for daily updates on many an entertainment site. Like so many others I love knowing who’s dating who, who said what and who’s wearing what but I think there is a difference between being interested and aware of celebrities to being ‘obsessed’ and wanting to know every down and dirty part of their lives.

What I’m trying to say is I think there can be a balance.

But what happens when it’s not the public asking for too much information it’s the celebrity giving it all away and for a reason?

You don’t have to be a PR guru to see when someone is working the press to their advantage. The best recent example I can think of is Cheryl Cole.

Someone who refused to speak about their private life for years until she felt her grip on the public’s sympathy for her was slipping, she then decide to uncharacteristically give a no holds bar interview to Piers Morgan.

Call me cynical but to me that’s a clear PR strategy. Use the media to remind everyone of your tough life so the public fall back in love with you.

But in doing this I think she gave the most uncomfortable to watch interview in recent times. Although I may not be a fan of Cheryl’s career I can still, on a human level sympathise with all the horrid things that have happened to her that she didn’t deserve or ask for. But her interview really did make me question the state that our entertainment industry is in. On a prime time slot on TV a grown man probing a young woman on what it felt like to be told by doctors you might not make it through the night. And through sobs of tears she then preceded to tell him her thankfully not, but could have been, last conversation to her mother.

I mean really, apart from her family, who should have been privy to such personal and intimate details of her life?

If that’s not feeding celebrity culture then I don’t know what is.

But who is in the wrong, him for asking her the questions or her for answering them?

I feel like I am toying between the lines. On one hand I am your average 20 year old girl who has grown up in a celebrity infused world and genuinely enjoys learning, reading and hearing about these people whose life’s are so different from my own, its escapism in the purest form.

Whereas on the other hand I am hovering on the outskirts, looking in on a world that I am, albeit on the lowest ranks, starting to intercept . Talking and meeting people I never thought imaginable. Trying to retell their stories with their dignity and my morals intact.

I really do love talking to people from all walks of life and finding out what makes them the person they are today. Be that an a-list movie star for a glossy fashion monthly (fingers crossed one day) or a business man for a local newspaper. Either way I want to cultivate a way of getting to know these people through my interviews that I feel isn’t crossing boundaries. I realise that sometimes I will have to ask questions and hear answers that may be uncomfortable but hopefully like Harvey Marcus with his Rihanna interview I will learn how to do it with grace and subtlety.

In my opinion these people deserve the same rights of privacy, with a bit of give and take of course, as the rest of us.

And maybe and most importantly I have to learn not to underestimate the modern celebrity too much, maybe they come fully packaged with the over share button ready to be pushed when they hit the big time. And maybe I have to accept that even though it’s a completely different mindset to my own, that when celebrities chose their career path, they in turn give up, willingly I may add, a little bit of themselves with it.

And I suppose not every case of over sharing and intrusive questioning has a negative outcome. Take the aforementioned Rihanna interview; she freely admits that without the media intrusion in her life she would never have found the courage to leave an abusive relationship, does that make the intrusion right, who knows?

But I will leave her with the last word on the subject.

“I want to say people loved me because of who I am. People have a lot more respect for you when you’re yourself and let them see your imperfections. That’s the big connection. The only difference between me and you is that I make music. But I’m still a normal person”.

I would love to know your thoughts on this, do you think the need to know everything about celebs has went too far?
What kind of interviews would you like to see in your favourite magazines?

Noah and Rachael

So a few of you may have remembered that last year I posted some beautiful photos from a website called StyleMePretty
It has some of the most perfect looking weddings i have ever seen and it's so sweet to read all the wedding story's and i assume it would be perfect inspiration if your planning your own wedding too!
But today via Una Bella Vita's blog (it's one of my favourites, you should really check it out) I think i have found my dream wedding. This is exactly how I want my wedding to look like! The couple look stunning. I have never seen a dress like hers in my life and its just beautiful and the groom and all his groom's men look like amazing characters from a 1950's movie, they all have such wonderful style.

I was going to post all the pictures from their wedding but once I saw this video I just knew i had to post it....seriously its so beautiful you may actually cry!

Oh and surely it should be mandatory that every groom and bride-to-be fist pump when they meet at the alter.  They are such cool dudes...!

Let me know what you think?

A word from the Bride-
"The day I got to marry Noah was everything I had hoped and more. It wasn’t just the beautiful setting or seeing everything come together exactly as I had pictured, it was the love and people that surrounded us that I will never forget. Our friends and family absolutely made our wedding everything that it turned out to be. On our wedding day and in the months following people mentioned to us all of the time how much they loved our wedding, how it was beautiful and “so us” and fun and so on, but the best thing that people told us and continue to tell us is that the love they could see between us and all of the people there was so extremely evident. That love, I feel, is what made our wedding day."

I am always on the look out for hair inspiration.
And being such a fan of 1960's hairstyles I fell in love with this beautiful editorial.
I am already a convert to the high pony tail, so next on my hair-do list is definitely these bunches, still super cute but in a more grown up effortless way than the Britney era style bunches!

1.  I finally found some black skinny jeans that I like.  I used my Groupon voucher and bought them from ASOS.  They have just the right amount stretch versus denim ratio, like they don't sag at the knees but you can sit down without feeling like your going to have a DVT in your legs from them being too tight!!!
Expect to see them on here soon!

2+3.  I won this bourjois lip gloss from a bloggers giveaway a few weeks ago, It was the first time i have ever won any giveaways/competition so i was very excited!  I Love bourjois and I was really excited to try this gloss.  Mines is number 33 in 3D effect.  The colour is really natural to your lip colour so it just makes your lips shimmer and i am surprised at how much bigger the 3D effect actually makes your lips look, normally i never buy into things like that, but this really does seem to work, I was very impressed!  I will wear it in my next outfit post so you can see what it looks like on!

4.  Today I just realised that I am running out of my perfume, I can't believe i didn't notice before.  I LOVE Vera Wang's princess perfume, it is definitely my signature scent.  My 21st birthday is on May 4th so I think this will definitely be going on my birthday list!

5+6.  New Nails Inc polish i loved this iridescent pink colour but i didn't realise it was matte, it looks kinda strange on, I'm really not sold on the whole matte nails thing yet...

7+8.  Oh my I am in love with my new Blackberry.  I know i am totally late to joining the BB club but I had a sidekick a few years ago which i just thought was the best thing invented but after that broke and I got an HTC which was just awful I decided i had to go over to the dark side and get a BB.  I am sooo happy i did. I am attached to it now.  I couldn't help myself though, getting a blinged out, so bad its amazing crystallized case for it, It feels so tacky in a good way though, obz!

9+10+11.  This is all I have been listening too.  Being the uber Britney fan that I am i had the album pre-ordered on iTunes for ages so couldn't wait to finally get to listen to it.  Isn't it just amazing, being honest there has never been a Britney album i didn't like (ok so Blackout wasn't perfect, but the girl was going through a hard time, right!) but this one seems pretty perfect!  Till the World Ends is creeping up to my Top 5 all time favorite songs of Britney's list .  I Love it!  Also Emily Osments new song has just been on repeat since i heard it on an ITV2 advert, pop-y goodness!

12.  Because Americans do magazines better.

13.  I have had a throat viral thing this week that I think everyone seems to be getting so I have been stocking up on Tunes then eating a frosty to take the horrible Tunes taste away.  Seriously there is logic in there somewhere.HaHa!

14+15.  My sister bought the Kardashians book and I  have just finished reading it too. I loved it, honestly I am such a fan of all there shows, and the book was just like an extension of that.  I know that a lot of people aren't a fan of there's but i really like them and i think there whole family is fab too!
And I'm now reading Franny and Zooey I have been wanting to read it for ages, and I'm really enjoying it so far...!
