Got My GoGo Philip On

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Some beautiful pieces from the awesome Gogo Philips jewellery that I was sent .
I am more than a little in love with this bracelet, i normally go for something a lot chunkier but I loved the prettiness of this and how intricate and delicate it is, always a talking point too as it's so unusual.

The earrings are right up my street and exactly the type of Harlem-chic that I love.  Give me a big gold hoop any day and I'm all over it.....!

I know i was sent these pieces, but please know that without a doubt i would have 100% bought them both.  They are in exactly the right price bracket  for this type of 'fun' jewellery and I would definitely recommend them.

I have been such a fan of GoGo for such a long time and I can't wait to get my hands on more pieces, they have some gold aqua-marine earrings that I can't wait to buy!

You can buy GoGo Philips in Topshop stores, ASOS, YOOX and on their own site too!

Are you a fan of this brand?

Sunday Show and Tell

I think everyone and their Mother knows now how much I love Mary-Kate and Ashley.
So it probably doesn't need to be explained how much I love their new(ish) website StyleMint and how much I want all of the Tee's they sell on it.
And i'm totally sure that I don''t need to tell you how much I love this video, can we get a Woop, Woop for its awesomeness.....
But do you know you what, I'm going to tell you anyway, that's how good it is...
I LOVE it!

Honestly if you haven't tried it yet, give it a go, I really do think it's mighty fun.
Let me know which Tee you are?
I was the Classic....

Christmas Guide Post Three

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Ok I know what your thinking..... WOW!!!
Yes indeedy..... wow

Today I wanted to do a really fun item for the Christmas post.  Something that again wasn't too expensive but was quirky... to say the least.

I am someone who loves anything on the right side of tacky, if you know what I mean. So these little beauties were calling out my name when I saw them.

These are called Glowbys.  They are basically fibre optic hair extensions.  Yes, you did hear the awesome-ness of that sentence right- Glow in the dark hair extensions.

Glowbys shine more brightly the darker it gets. They are reusable so you can wear them loads and if you feel like the lights start to dim all you have to do is pop in some new batteries and your good to go.

The battery pack is hidden under a little teeny clip you use to slide the extension into your hair kinda like a hairgrip.
Once you've secured your 'lights' into your hair, your good to go and get raving it up/scare people in the dark/just stare at the amazing-ness of your hair in the mirror all night long!

They are about $4 each and they ship worldwide with shipping only approx $4 too.

Do you not think these would just make the funniest stocking fillers ever?
Also i know a lot of people who do things like secret Santa and stuff with their friends and they put a limit on how much presents can cost, so can you imagine if you only had a limit of like £10 or something and they were expecting a Boots gift set and you gave them them like a bundle of glow in the dark hair extensions, how freaking happy would they be....ha!

I really want some of these....how perfect would they be for next years Eurovision song contest party....epic!

If you want to buy some of these and let's be honest why wouldn't you?
You can buy them HERE on Luminence.

Sunday Show and Tell

Because who doesn't love a good romantic story on a Sunday afternoon....
So, um....who wants to start a Whisper Chain, does it not look like the funniest thing?

Their Words....
Jake Bronstein began a whisper chain that successfully passed through 59 people, a new world record. With his girlfriend Kristina Hoge completely unaware of the plan, Bronstein sent the message “Kristina, will you marry me?” around a roomful of strangers. After the proposal passed through 59 people, a random stranger whispered the message in the ear of a completely shocked Hoge. She accepted onstage in front of a jubilant, tearful crowd.

House of Dagmar

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

I adore the simplicity of this new collection from Dagmar.
To me it screams of Off-Duty Model style, so effortless and relaxed.
I've picked a few of my favourite pieces to show you.
The dress in the second image down is such a must have, it looks like something that you could just throw on with a big chunky scarf and you'd be good to go!
You can buy Dagmar on ASOS or you can check out their website HERE to see where else you can get your hands on some of their beeeautiful pieces!

Are you a fan of Dagmar?
I am obsessed by Swedish designers right now, who are your fave's?

The Re-Birth

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
Leather Jacket- Muubaa
Dress- ASOS
120 Denier Tights- ASOS
Boots- Clarks
Necklace-ASOS
Fur Collar- ASOS

Sorry for the major absence of outfit photos, fingers crossed this is my blog getting back to normal with posting etc.  I could list 100 million reasons why i haven't been keeping up with the blog as much but you know the usual drill sometimes non-blogging life gets so busy that its hard to keep up a blogging life too, but it looks like things are making there way back to normality now, Yah!

I LOVE this fur collar I got a few weeks ago.  I bought it to go with my outfit for my mama's 60's birthday party she had a few weeks past.  It was such an investment as i really haven't had it off since.  I have wore it with Tee's, sweaters, cardigans, coats and everything in between.  I just feel it gives a more glamorous 70's/Almost Famous type of feel to any outfit.

What do you think of my boots?
Honestly I was actually going to play a little bit of a game and get you all to guess where they were from but i couldn't resist in telling you - CLARKS!!!
Can you believe it, you would never think it right?
For those of you who are  non-uk'ers Clarks is a shoe store most commonly associated with children's shoes (who didn't get there first pair of shoes from Clark's, remember that big ole' machine you used to have to stand in so they could measure your feet?) and also with older people who like the more, how should i put it 'demure' shoe.
Well over the past few years i have been seeing new adverts and editorials for Clarks, I've noticed that they did have a more 'younger' feel about them but to be honest i still had the view of Clark's that i did when i was little and was begging my mum to let me get some Nike hi-tops for school instead of clarks light-up ones, so i didn't really take any notice of the slightly different branding!

That was until i got an email a few weeks ago from Clarks.  It was a really lovely email telling me all about their new collection and explaining the re-branding that has been going on over at there.  I was really intrigued to see the new styles as the email explained about all the 'fashion-y' magazine that had been really impressed by the collection.
As I clicked around the site, i can honestly say, truthfully i was in complete shock, gone were the big chunky wedge soled Mary-Jane's  and in their place is a collection that i would say has a little something for everyone.  The styles are so of the season, with beautiful leathers and suede and an array of flattering styles.  The biggest shocker for me though were the boots.  I actually wanted at least 5 pairs.  I genuinely never thought i would ever say i wanted anything from Clarks, and i mean really like 'omg i have to have those boots', thats how much i want them!

I was lucky enough to be given a pair to try and out and i choose these ones above.  I adore the angled edge which i always find flattering and i have been desperate to find a good pair of slouchy boots for years.
It was the beautiful deep dark chocolate colour that sealed the deal for me though, i always find that colour so chic and wearable especially for winter time.

The one thing i knew i wouldn't have to worry about with clarks was the fit, because at the end of the day that is what they are most famous for.  And my mama's words are still true 'You can beat a Clarks sole to last you through the winter'  and that's exactly right, i think these are definitely a forever buy.  The style and colour are classic so I'm sure they will be getting me through many a winter (and summer, i do live in Scotland, there isn't that much of a difference between seasons!) for years to come.

I really wanted to write this post as i know most people my age will have the exact same opinion of Clarks that i had.  But i just wanted to urge you to reconsider it and check out their site.  It has this much more modern and sleeker feel.  The adverts for their new ranges are so spot on and current i actually found myself getting excited at all their new styles to come because in all truth-fullness some of the pieces wouldn't look out of place in Topshop.  Don't get me wrong they still have some styles aimed at their older customers but i would say the majority of the brand is aimed at the 20-30's market now.
I could go on all day tyring to convince you of their big makeover but i think you should just take a look for yourself.
Oh and This was the other pair I'm considering  buying, what do you think, i LOVE them?

Check out Clarks HERE and buy my beeeautiful boots HERE

Also i just want to say I honestly haven't been influenced by the lovely people at Clarks on what to write here at all, these are all my honest opinions, when i got the email from Clarks i thought there is no way I'm writing about them on my blog but after reading through it and seeing for myself all the new styles i really just wanted to let you all know about them too.  I know that at this time of year everyone is struggling with money etc and there is nothing more annoying than buying a big purchase like your winter boots from Topshop, Miss Selfridge etc and wearing them once for them to fall apart (lets be honest, we've all been there right?) and i thought if I'm going to be recommending a pair of boots i want to genuinely believe that they are good quality, a lovely style and most importantly for me, worth the money, which is, in my opinion exactly what these little lovelies are.

Are you a fan of Clarks, has your opinion of them changed?

Oh and on a totally un-related topic, I got my hair re-highlighted and i went blonder again, what do you think?

Christmas Gift Ideas Part 2

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

So here is the second installment of my Christmas Gift Ideas. Some quirky/alternative ideas for getting something that little bit more special for those awesome people in your life.
You can see the first post HERE

Today I thought I would do something that could be for either guys or gals.
This post was inspired by Katia (who has a beeeautiful blog, check it out here) who was looking for a little bit of inspiration of what to buy for her dad for Christmas.
It got me thinking what types of things can be bought that would suit a lot of different people in your life.

I am a massive book lover.  Ever since i can remember i have loved reading.  I have always thought there is nothing better than sitting on a cold winter-y night with a beautiful book and a big mug of hot chocolate...ahhh.
Although i am now a proud owner of a Kindle (I got it becasue i buy so many books i thought it would save me a little bit of money, which thankfully it has!), i still don't think you can beat the feel of a real book.

When I came across the website The Folio Society, I fell in love with it.
The hardest thing about buying a book for someone is finding one you think they would like, right?
Well I think this website helps solve this problem.
Why not buy someone their favourite ever book but buy them a 'special' version of it.  That way you know for sure they love the book and it also shows how much thought you have put into it by knowing which one they would love most.  It will be the most beautiful edition of it they will ever have.

Every book has a special illustrated cover and some even have extra text and new forewards too.  And they all have page after page of beautiful illustrations.

I have always had this vision of having  luxe editions of my favourite books all on display, I just think nothing looks prettier, and this website would be perfect for collecting them all.

All these books are between £22 and £34 (i think the Grimm's one is £39, because its massive) which even though its much more expensive than a 'normal' book, as a keepsake that they will have forever, i think its a great price!

I think these would be perfect for everyone who loves a good book.  There are hundreds of titles new and old on offer on the site so I'm sure you would definitely be able to find something that you liked.  There is also the most gorgeous classic children's books too, how amazing would that be as a gift for a little baby so they could keep it forever!

What do you guys think?
Will you be getting anyone a special edition for Christmas?

Oh and If there is anyone in particular you are struggling to find a gift for and would like me to do a Christmas gift post on them, like for a boyfriend/best friend/sister etc.  Let me know and I'll see what i can find!

I-D

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket I LOVE I-D magazine, I don't really know why I've never posted more about the mag on here before, I think I sometimes get too caught up with all the whimsical American editorials and covers sometimes.
I adore these four covers's for I-D's winter issue.
These are the types of covers I love, i obsess over simple images and things even like bold text and font.
I have never looked at a Vogue cover with all the text and model/celeb posing in an awkward hands-above-head-pose and thought wow, that's striking.  Images like that are just too busy for my personal taste.
Which is one of the reasons i love I-D so much, everything about it is stylised and simple and I love that all their covers have the trademark wink all interpreted in a different way.

Can't wait to get my hands on this issue.
Which cover is your favourite?
Mine has got to be Anja Rubik, just love everything about the image but how crazy beautiful does Jourdan look too, it looks like a supermodels cover from the 80's.
